The brief from the client was simple – Provide a roofing system that can be applied within a couple of days, that causes no disruption to the building, its operation and occupiers.

With the detailed areas on the roof, utilising a single ply roofing membrane was not a viable option. This meant specifying a liquid coating that was not only reliable but fast setting and easy to work with. Truseal Rapid Set Polyurea was specified for the project because of its ease of application and its fast cure time.

Polyurea is a two part liquid product which is applied using portable specialist machinery and highly trained personnel. The machinery utilises heated pumps to draw the viscous liquids through to the spray gun where it can be easily spray applied by the technician.

Truseal Rapid Set Polyurea is fully cured within 5-7 seconds upon it being sprayed from the gun. Because of its fast curing, large areas can be waterproofed in next to no time. It’s tough but flexible properties coupled with its easy spray application means this product is perfect for those hard detailed roofs, where a single-ply is not practical.

After the basic cleaning and preparing of the original substrate on the first day, the Truseal Polyurea was applied and fully cured by the end of the next day. This project was completed in two days with absolutely no disruption to the building or its occupiers, and there was no long wait for the material to cure like other liquid coatings on the market. Truseal Rapid Set Polyurea only takes between 5-7 seconds to fully cure after its spray application.
